What is SIN?

We are Strength In Numbers, also known as "SIN". We are a not-for-profit social association working to promote and empower HIV+ (poz) gay men around the world. Chapters of SIN can be found in over 50 cities on 4 different continents. Colloborating with other independent poz social groups, SIN reaches over 20,000 gay men living with HIV/AIDS and their friends. We do not believe that HIV discriminates between poz social groups, so we do not distinguish between membership in SIN and other groups.

SIN as an organization does not have tax exempt (501c3) status; we are self-supporting through our own efforts. Our concept envisions that each SIN chapter is overseen by managers who are unpaid and volunteer their time and energy to plan low or no cost social events for poz guys in their local cities. Membership is free; SIN does not require any dues, fees or payments. Although open to anyone, our network focuses on the specific needs of poz gay men of all races, ages, backgrounds, or even how long they have been infected.

In our view, any gay men who has ever tested positive for HIV belongs to our association, and we welcome them. SIN exists to empower and connect poz guys, breaking down barriers of isolation and stigma. And have as much fun as possible while we do our important fight against a very serious disease. Join us!
