We sail on Sunday the 26th of October from Ft Lauderdale in the late afternoon. After a relaxing first day on a magnificent private island, Princess Cays, you will be delighted with stops at three beautiful and distinctly different exotic Caribbean ports. We visit Grand Turk with it’s charming town and spectacular beaches, St Maarten which is actually two countries on one island (half French, half Dutch), St Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Island with it’s world class shopping and spectacular snorkeling. Our cruise ends the following Sunday, November 2 back in Ft Lauderdale.
We offer the most unique combined travel, social, and educational experience for people living with HIV. In addition to the many, many activities offered by the ship, we will have many private social events like cocktail parties, movie night, and fun games that are only available to people booked into our group. We will also offer private shore excursions not available to other passengers on the ship. These shore excursions have been for many of our guests among the highlights of their trip. Our renowned guest speakers are experts in their fields and will provide you information on the latest treatments, nutrition, and so much more. This past year we had 225 participants and expect a much higher turn out this year.
Past guests have suggested that we have found the perfect formula to provide a perfect balance of socialization, camaraderie and a true sense of community. It is truly an emotional and bonding experience with much laughter and yes even some tears. Dozens and dozens of lasting friendships have been formed that will continue way past the end of the cruise.
Sam W from Alabama states “You will never know what an incredible experience it was for me to see other people like me with HIV, because I had not known anyone else until this cruise. I live in an extremely small conservative area and was only recently diagnosed. Thank you for bring us all together. I am looking forward to keeping in touch with my new friends and am very much looking forward to next years cruise”. People from small communities and big cities alike express similar feeling for their experiences with us.
A portion of each year's profits are donated to various HIV Organizations. We are pleased to announce that $6,500 was donated from the 2007 cruise. In total over $30,000 has been raised.
On behalf of myself and those who help to make this a magnificent experience, I hope that we will be able to share our lives with you on this our Fourth Annual Gay Men’s Poz Cruise Retreat!
